Medical Lab Technician Job in Salt Lake City, UT

St. Marks Hospital UT is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist to join our laboratory team in Salt Lake City. You will perform medical laboratory testing across multiple departments including Chemistry, Hematology, Coagulation, Urinalysis, Blood Bank, and Microbiology.

Shift and Schedule

• 10-hour day shifts: 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM
• 10-hour night shifts: 3:30 PM to 2:00 AM
• 7 on/7 off rotating schedule
• Every other weekend requirement
• On-call available if desired, but not required

Responsibilities

• Perform medical laboratory testing across Chemistry, Hematology, Coagulation, Urinalysis, Blood Bank, and some Microbiology
• Assist with specimen processing as needed
• Operate specialized laboratory equipment including Siemens Chemistry, System Hematology, IL Top 350 for Coagulation, Beckman Coulter IRIS, Ortho Vision for Blood Bank, MicroScan, BioFire, and Sophia
• Document and manage patient information using EPIC EMR system
• Float to specimen processing when needed

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Medical Laboratory Science
• MLS or MLT certification from ASCP or equivalent
• Minimum 3 years of experience as a MLS or MLT
• 5+ years of experience preferred
• Verifiable schooling and certification required
• Familiarity with listed laboratory instruments preferred

Compensation and Duration

Weekly pay: $1,953. Assignment duration: 91 days, starting November 2, 2026. Pewter or Dark Gray scrubs required.
