Med Surg RN Job in Kansas City, MO

Research Medical Center MO is seeking an RN for a 91-day travel assignment on a 23-bed Ortho/Trauma unit. You'll work four 12-hour night shifts per week (7 p.m. to 7 a.m.) with 48 hours guaranteed weekly, earning $2,370 per week.

Unit Overview

This Med Surg unit manages post-operative orthopedic patients including knee, hip, and shoulder replacements, along with trauma cases and some neuro overflow. Patient ratios range from 1:4 to 1:5. The unit is supported by a unit secretary and patient care technicians to help with your workflow. You'll document using Meditech and work with specialized equipment including traction, fixators, and cooling equipment.

Your Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care across the 23-bed unit with shift-based assignments
• Conduct bedside shift reports and hourly rounding to support patient experience
• Three weekend shifts will be required per schedule period
• Float as needed to other Med Surg level units, including General Med Surg, Nephrology, and Neuro/Trauma

Requirements

• Active RN license (required)
• BLS certification (required)
• Orthopedic experience (strongly preferred)
• Telemetry and NIH stroke scale skills (preferred)
• Navy scrubs required uniform
