Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Tele

Job Details:

• Contract options available for 13 or 26 weeks
• Night shift schedule: 3x12 or 4x12 from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend coverage required, may change based on need
• Patient ratio of 5:1 for days, nights, and weekends
• Unit census ranges from 20 to 30 patients with 29 beds available
• Cares for adult and geriatric patient populations
• Common patient diagnoses include respiratory failure, COPD, respiratory distress, pneumonia, pulmonary edema, hypoxia, shortness of breath, sepsis, UTI, CHF, hypo/hyperglycemia, and weakness/debility
• Required skills include central line care and management, feeding tube care and management, heparin protocols, interpretation of dysrhythmias, isolation precautions and PPE, telemetry and remote monitoring, nasal cannula, oxygen tanks, PCA, peripheral and PICC line care and management, tracheostomy care and management, and wound care and wound vac
• Floating is required to other like units at this facility or nearby facilities in the Upstate region
• Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, lift teams, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretary
• Minimum 1 year of experience in Med Surg Tele required
• Minimum 1 year of EPIC EMR experience required
• Travel experience required; first-time travelers will not be considered
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and SC RN license
• Pre-assignment testing and modules must be completed within 48 hours of receiving login information
