Med Surg RN Job in Kansas City, MO

You'll work as an RN on a 49-bed Med Surg unit at Research Medical Center in Kansas City, MO. This is a 91-day travel assignment with 4x12-hour night shifts (7 PM–7 AM), earning $2,360 per week.

Role and Schedule

• 12-hour shifts with 48 hours guaranteed preferred
• 3 weekend shifts required within each 4-week schedule period
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Start date: December 14, 2026

Unit Support and Environment

• 5 PCTs on day shifts; 3 PCTs on night shifts
• Unit secretary support
• Documentation via Meditech
• Floating follows standard facility policy

Clinical Responsibilities

You will perform IVs, foley catheters, external urinary catheters, wound care, post-op care, trach care, NG tubes, and feeding tubes. Equipment on the unit includes Welch Allen/Dynamap vital sign machines, bladder scanner, Hoyer lift, Sara Steady, and wound vacs.

Patient Experience Standards

• AIDET patient communication model
• Bedside shift report
• Hourly rounding

Requirements and Dress Code

• Current Missouri RN license required
• BLS certification required
• Navy blue scrub top with navy or black scrub pants
• Undershirt and/or scrub jacket (if worn) must be navy, white, or black
• No sweatshirts or track jackets
