PCU Registered Nurse Job in Columbia, SC

Prisma Health Richland Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for their Progressive Care Unit (PCU), a 20-bed stepdown cardiac unit caring for adult and geriatric patients. This is a night shift position on a 4x12 schedule with weekly pay of $2,398.

Position Details:

• Night shift, 4x12 schedule
• Contract length: 91 days, with options for 13 or 26-week extensions
• Self-scheduling model with up to two pre-approved time off requests
• Patient ratio of 4:1 across all shifts
• 36 hours of orientation provided
• May float to other units based on census needs

Patient Population & Diagnoses:

You will care for patients with STEMI, NSTEMI, CHF, PPM placement, defibrillator placement, ablations, arrhythmias, CVA, and medical telemetry overflow.

Required Skills & Competencies:

• Blood product administration
• Cardiac telemetry and dysrhythmia interpretation
• Central line care and management
• Chest tube management
• CVA care protocols
• Heparin protocols
• Tracheostomy care and management
• Pre- and post-cardiac catheterization care
• IV starts, maintenance, and peripheral line management
• Phlebotomy
• PCA pump management
• Titration of cardiac drips
• Rapid response and code team participation
• Isolation precautions and PPE

Requirements:

• Current RN licensure
• Minimum 2 years nursing experience
• Minimum 1 year EPIC EMR experience
• Strong cardiac stepdown background
• ACLS and BLS certifications required
• NIH certification required
• Medical and arrhythmia exam required
