PCU Registered Nurse Job in Columbia, SC

Prisma Health Richland Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for its Progressive Care Unit (PCU), a 91-day travel assignment starting September 14, 2026. You will work 3x12 night shifts at $2,047.68 weekly.

Role Overview

You will care for adult patients with cardiac diagnoses, including chest pain and arrhythmias such as atrial fibrillation and intermittent ventricular tachycardia. Your responsibilities include managing cardiac drips (heparin, cardizem, nitroglycerin, insulin), supporting patients pre- and post-cardiac procedures (heart catheterization, cardioversion, ablation, pacemaker/ICD implant or upgrade), and performing on-unit telemetry monitoring.

Key Clinical Skills

• Cardiac telemetry interpretation and dysrhythmia management
• Central line and PICC line care
• Heparin and IV insulin protocol management
• Blood product administration and wound care
• Tracheostomy care

Schedule and Staffing

You will work 12-hour shifts with self-scheduling flexibility. Patient ratios are 4:1 across days, nights, and weekends. Six weekend shifts are required per 6-week schedule period. The facility may call off one shift per two weeks. Float to other units and campuses may occur based on census needs.

Requirements

• Minimum 1+ year of nursing experience
• 1+ year of experience with Epic EMR
• Strong cardiac telemetry experience
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Previous charge experience preferred

Facility Resources

You will chart using Epic with Pyxis for medication dispensing. Interdisciplinary support is available, including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, radiology, and social services. Free parking is provided.
