Physical Therapist Acute Care Job in Saint Louis, MO

Join Barnes-Jewish Hospital Allied as a Physical Therapist in our acute care setting. You will deliver therapy services across a broad range of inpatient populations, including medicine, surgery, orthopedics, neurology, cardiopulmonary, and oncology.

Schedule & Duration

• Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM (flexible start up to 8:00 AM)
• One weekend (Saturday and Sunday) required during each 4-week period, with a weekday off during that applicable week
• No on-call requirements
• 91-day assignment
• 3 guaranteed shifts per 13-week contract
• Maximum 7 days of requested time off per 13-week contract

Core Responsibilities

• Establish and implement treatment plans with consideration for discharge needs, functional status goals, and appropriate equipment
• Perform patient assessments, documentation, education, and safety evaluations
• Educate and collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare team members; recommend specialist referrals as needed
• Delegate to assistants and technicians via written and verbal communication
• Float across therapy service lines as needed
• Complete all documentation per departmental policies using Epic electronic health record system
• Utilize safe patient handling equipment, vitals monitoring tools, and iPad-based assessment resources

Requirements

• 1 year of Level 1 trauma acute care experience
• Current state licensure
• BLS certification
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with diverse patient populations
• Epic experience preferred
• Scrubs: black or grey

Compensation

$2,514.24 per week.
