PCU RN Job in Asheville, NC

Join Mission Hospital's A4W Trauma Telemetry unit (5 West), a 36-bed progressive care setting where you'll deliver direct patient care on a night shift schedule. This is a 91-day travel assignment starting September 28, 2026, working three 12-hour shifts per week from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM.

Your Role

You'll care for patients requiring telemetry monitoring and trauma-related interventions. Night shift ratios are 1:6 to 1:7, allowing you to manage moderate acuity loads while maintaining clinical oversight. You'll prepare patients for Endoscopy, Interventional Radiology, and Operating Room procedures, coordinating care transitions with procedural teams.

Unit Standards & Technology

• Medical remote telemetry monitoring with Cerner Patient Observation (CPO)
• VC150 monitoring systems in every patient room
• Workstation on wheels for each staff member
• Tap and Go system for secure computer and documentation access
• Cerner EMR for all charting and clinical documentation

Scheduling & Flexibility

You must sign up for six weekend shifts per six-week schedule; Friday, Saturday, and Sunday count as weekend days on night shift. Float availability to sister Med-Surge units (3W, 5W, and K8) is expected as unit census and operational needs require.

Requirements & Preferences

• Current BLS certification (required)
• Medical telemetry experience (required)
• CMSRN certification (encouraged)
• Leadership and charge nurse experience (preferred)
• BSN degree (preferred)

Compensation & Logistics

You'll earn $2,080 per week. Dress code is navy blue top and bottom, white top with navy blue bottom, or all white scrubs.
