Telemetry RN Job in Wilmington, NC

Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for a Telemetry position in Wilmington, NC. This 91-day contract runs from July 20, 2026, with 3x12-hour day shifts and weekly pay of $1,920.67.

Role Overview

You will work as an ED Holding Support nurse within the Float Pool, caring for adult and geriatric patients with medical and surgical diagnoses. The unit is located within the Emergency Department and serves patients awaiting inpatient beds. You will float between the ED and Med-Surg areas as needed, managing patient ratios of 1:6 for MS/Tele or 1:4 for PCU-level patients. No call is required, and shifts are manager-scheduled with every other weekend required. You may be assigned to Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team and required to report during catastrophic events, mass casualty incidents, or disasters.

Requirements

• Current RN license
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• EKG testing must be passed prior to start
• Epic charting system experience preferred

Clinical Skills

You will demonstrate competency in MS/Tele nursing including dysrhythmia interpretation and management, telemetry monitoring (on-unit and remote), colostomy care, feeding tube care, renal failure management, blood product administration, peripheral and PICC line management, heparin and insulin protocols, isolation precautions, chest tube management, CPAP/BiPAP, high-flow nasal cannula, ABG interpretation, non-invasive airway management, oral suctioning, oxygen delivery systems, and tracheostomy management. Preferred skills include NIHSS, IV insulin protocols, hemodialysis support, port access, central line blood draws, IV starts, CVA care, pre/post neuro and spinal surgery support, traumatic brain injury management, ortho trauma, total joint replacement care, and wound care/wound vac management.

Facility Support

You will have access to interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, social services, rapid response teams, interpretation services, and transportation. Unit systems include Pyxis, Epic, and SBAR documentation. Standard equipment includes cardiac monitors, IV pumps, and monitoring systems. You will receive 12 hours of orientation and must wear navy scrubs. Maximum of 7 days pre-approved time off is allowed during the contract.
