RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts with weekends and holidays as scheduled
• Acute care setting on a 22-bed long-term antibiotics unit with private rooms
• Patient ratios range from 1:5 to 1:6
• Care for patients with infections including endocarditis, abscesses, septic arthritis, sepsis, osteomyelitis, and diabetic foot infections
• Experience working with patients who have underlying substance use histories required
• Strong neurological experience required
• Charge nurse responsibilities may include managing between 2-4 patients at times
• Clinical assistants available on unit supporting vital signs, fingersticks, and assistance with ADLs at ratios of 1:7 to 1:22
• Portable telemetry packs used for cardiac monitoring
• Drip titration performed only by physician orders with applicable protocols provided during orientation
• Charting performed using EPIC electronic health records system
• 1-2 orientation shifts on unit with a preceptor
• Required certification: BLS (AHA)
• Cancellation policy: 2 shifts per 13-week assignment and 1 shift for assignments less than 13 weeks
