Med Surg RN Job in Charleston, WV

You will work as a Registered Nurse on the Med Surg unit at CAMC General Hospital in Charleston, West Virginia. This is a 91-day travel assignment with 4x12 night shifts, working 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM on weekdays with every other weekend required. You will earn $2,592 per week.

Your patient population will include adults ages 18 and older who have undergone bone and joint reconstructive surgery, joint replacement, orthopedic trauma surgery, or sports injuries, as well as Med/Surg overflow patients. You will maintain typical patient ratios of 1:4 with occasional flex to 1:5. The unit operates under a team nursing model with remote telemetry monitoring supported by an off-unit tech station.

You will float within scope to meet facility needs. Contract options are available for 36-hour or 48-hour per week schedules based on your preference. Overtime applies after 48 hours for 4x12 schedules.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Minimum 2 years of RN experience with at least 1 year of in-specialty experience
• BLS certification required; ACLS and NIHSS preferred
• Proficiency with telemetry, IV start, CPMs, Orthopat, Constavac, Hemovac, Wound Vacs, and traction
• Experience with dysrhythmia interpretation and management, orthopedic trauma, total joint replacement, and conscious sedation preferred
• Medication administration: Cardizem, Heparin, Nitro, Argatroban, Amiodarone, Dopamine (renal perfusion only)

You must hold a valid WV or Compact RN license; a pending license is accepted for submission. First-time travelers are welcome. Charting will be done in Cerner. Scrub color is Royal Blue/White. Free parking is available for travelers.
