ED RN Job in Asheville, NC

Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC is seeking an RN for its Emergency Department. This is a travel position running 91 days, starting August 3, 2026. You will work three 12-hour day shifts per week (2:45 AM–3:15 PM), earning $2,233.80 weekly.

Role Overview

You will care for patients in a high-volume, 101-bed emergency department. Typical patient ratios are 4:1 for medical patients and up to 7:1 for behavioral holds. You will not float outside the ED but must be flexible within all ED sections. Every other weekend scheduling is required; block scheduling is not available.

Clinical Environment

• High-volume setting with 100,000+ annual visits (Level II trauma center and comprehensive stroke center)
• Technology: Baxter infusion pumps, GE monitors, Cerner electronic health record system
• Support staff include cardiac monitoring technicians, unit clerks, internal processing, and triage personnel available days and nights

Expectations

• Follow AIDET patient experience standards and respectful behavior practices
• Maintain updated patient boards throughout each visit
• Demonstrate teamwork mentality, real-time coaching, and feedback skills
• Work across all ED areas with flexibility
• Wear navy scrubs per facility dress code

Required Qualifications

• Current RN license
• Minimum 2 years nursing experience; at least 1 year in an ER setting
• Before start date: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, NIHSS certifications
• Within 90 days of hire: ENPC certification
• Preferred: Prior experience in a Level II trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, or high-volume ED (100,000+ visits)
