Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• Work on a 36-bed Medical Surgical unit with patient ratios of 1:4 to 1:5
• Schedule requires 4 weekend shifts in a 4-week block
• Float over core staff per floating policy
• Perform bedside shift reports, safety checks every 1-2 hours, with focus on communication and responsiveness
• Perform basic patient assessments and general care including wound care, tracheostomy, ostomy, drains, chest tubes, stroke, and seizure management
• Manage patients requiring dialysis with PD Cyclers or PCA pumps as needed
• Administer Heparin drip as the only drip on the unit
• Support post-operative procedures including amputations, ostomy, drains, chest tubes, oral surgeries, and wound vacs
• Utilize equipment including Welch Allyn VS Carts, Hoyer Lift, Broda Chairs, and Alaris IV Pumps
• Document using Meditech electronic documentation system
• Follow HAI prevention protocols including CVC and Foley monitoring with standard precautions
• Adhere to fall prevention protocols
• Maintain 100% medication scanning including controlled substances
• Required certifications: BLS, NIHSS
• Dress code: Scrubs in Navy, Blue, White, Black, Gray, or Ceil Blue
