Med Surg RN Job in Nashville, TN

You will work as an RN on a 36-bed Medical Surgical unit at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee. This is a travel position with a 91-day contract starting September 14, 2026.

Schedule and Compensation

• 3x12 night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• 4 weekend shifts per 4-week block
• $1,891 weekly pay

Clinical Responsibilities

• Manage patient ratios of 1:4 to 1:5 on a 36-bed unit
• Perform bedside shift reports and safety checks every 1–2 hours with focus on communication and responsiveness
• Conduct basic patient assessments and general care including wound care, tracheostomy, ostomy, drains, and chest tubes
• Support stroke and seizure management
• Manage patients on dialysis with PD Cyclers or PCA pumps as needed
• Administer Heparin drip (the only drip medication on the unit)
• Provide post-operative care for amputations, ostomy, drains, chest tubes, oral surgeries, and wound vacs
• Monitor and prevent hospital-acquired infections (HAI) including CVC and Foley management using standard precautions
• Implement fall prevention protocols
• Perform 100% medication scanning including controlled substances
• Float over core staff per floating policy

Equipment and Systems

• Welch Allyn VS Carts, Hoyer Lift, Broda Chairs, and Alaris IV Pumps
• Meditech electronic documentation system

Requirements

• Current BLS certification
• NIHSS certification
• Scrubs in Navy, Blue, White, Black, Gray, or Ceil Blue
