Med Surg RN Job in Cookeville, TN

Cookeville Regional Medical Center is hiring a Registered Nurse for its rehabilitation unit. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning October 26, 2026, with 3x12 night shifts running 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM. You'll earn $2,079 weekly.

Schedule & Requirements

• Block scheduling available with Sunday, Monday, Tuesday rotation
• Patient ratio of 1:7 across days, nights, and weekends
• 2 weekend shifts per contract required
• No on-call obligations
• No holiday time off available
• Current TN or compact license required (no pending licenses)
• BLS certification required

Role Details

You will provide acute inpatient rehabilitation care to adult and geriatric populations. Patient diagnoses include neurological, orthopedic, debilitated medical, and cardiopulmonary conditions. You may float to Med/Surg if census is low in the rehab unit.

Your responsibilities include wound care, tracheostomy care and management, spinal cord injury care, IV management, fall risk assessment and prevention, phlebotomy, nebulizer treatments, EKGs, and bladder ultrasound. You'll use ARJO safe patient handling equipment and document in the Paragon charting system.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required
• Travel nurses only—not open to local candidates (must be outside 50-mile radius)
• First-time travelers not accepted
• Rehab experience preferred
• Previous charge experience preferred

You'll collaborate with an interdisciplinary team including physical therapy, social services, pharmacy, and unit secretary staff to support patient recovery and discharge planning.
