Emergency Department RN Job in Asheville, NC

Join Mission Hospital's 101-bed Emergency Department as a Registered Nurse. You'll work a 3x12 day shift (6:45 AM–7:15 PM) on a 91-day travel assignment starting July 26, 2026, earning $1,918.44 per week.

Role and Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care with typical ratios of 4:1 for medical patients and up to 7:1 for ED behavioral holds
• Float across all sections of the Emergency Department as needed; no floating outside the ED
• Document in Cerner electronic health record system and operate Baxter pumps and GE monitors
• Collaborate with technicians in the cardiac monitoring unit, internal processing area, and triage, as well as unit clerks on day and night shifts
• Deliver patient-centered care following AIDET standards, maintain respectful communication, update patient boards, and keep patients informed throughout their visit
• Demonstrate strong teamwork, coach colleagues, and provide real-time feedback

Scheduling and Requirements

• Every other weekend scheduling required with flexibility to meet department needs; block scheduling is not available
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience with at least 1 year in an ER setting
• Experience in a Level II trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, or high-volume ED of 100,000+ visits is preferred
• Required certifications on hire: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, NIHSS
• ENPC required within 90 days of hire
• Navy scrubs required per dress code
