Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Tele

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts with variable scheduling including every other or every third weekend depending on staffing and census
• No on-call responsibilities
• Required to work 1-2 of 3 upcoming holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years) unless unit is closed
• Float across all campuses as required
• Manage patient ratios of 4-5:1 on a 15-bed unit
• Care for all types of med surg patients including heparin drip management
• Work with remote tele tech unit monitoring
• Wear navy blue solid scrubs
• Minimum 24 months of Med Surg or Med Surg Tele experience required
• Must have completed at least 1 travel contract within the previous 18 months (no first-time travelers accepted)
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Heparin experience required
• Charge experience required
• Telemetry and cardiac background highly preferred
• Precept experience is a nice to have
• Required certification: BLS (AHA or ARC)
• Active Iowa nursing license or compact/multistate license required
• Skills checklist specific to Med Surg or Med Surg Tele discipline required
• Professional reference from a charge nurse, supervisor, nurse manager, director, CNO, or COO within the past 24 months preferred
• Department prefers candidates willing and open to extending past the initial 13 weeks
