ICU Registered Nurse Job in Waterbury, CT

You'll work 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM–7:30 AM) in the Intensive Care Unit at Waterbury Hospital, a community hospital that welcomes first-time travelers. This is an 8-week contract at 36 hours per week, with every other weekend coverage required.

What you'll do:

• Provide direct patient care to adults in the ICU with typical ratios of 1:2, flexing to 1:3 as needed
• Manage dysrhythmia interpretation and response
• Monitor and maintain pulmonary artery lines and Swan Ganz catheters
• Perform central line care and management
• Start and maintain intravenous lines
• Care for and manage ventilated patients, including titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips
• Float to Med/Tele and Telemetry units within scope of practice
• Implement infection prevention and isolation precautions
• Document in the Cerner system and communicate using SBAR protocols

What we need from you:

• Current RN license
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
• Community hospital experience required
• ACLS and BLS certifications
• Unit-specific EKG testing (required upon hire)
• Preferred experience with Cerner documentation and Accudose medication systems
