ICU RN Job in Farmington, CT

UConn John Dempsey Hospital is seeking an experienced RN for our Intensive Care Unit. This is a 112-week travel assignment beginning September 21, 2026.

Position Overview

You will work three 12-hour night shifts per week from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, with rotating weekends and holidays required. You may be assigned to float between the ICU, Intermediate Unit, and Medical-Surgical units as needed. Patient ratios vary by unit and will be discussed during your interview; the Medical-Surgical ratio is 5 to 1. Mandatory overtime may be required on an as-needed basis to ensure adequate unit coverage as part of the staff rotation pool.

Compensation and Schedule

Weekly pay is $2,846. You will work on a rotating schedule that includes weekends and holidays.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of recent ED and/or ICU nursing experience
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications
• NIH Stroke Scale certification
• EPIC electronic health record experience required

About the Role

As an ICU RN, you will provide direct patient care in a fast-paced critical care environment. Your responsibilities will include monitoring patients on various levels of care, administering medications and treatments, collaborating with the multidisciplinary team, and ensuring patient safety and comfort. The floating assignment gives you exposure to different units within the hospital, expanding your clinical skills and experience.
