ED - Emergency Room

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts with varying start times depending on shift assignment
• Day/Mid shift start times: 7:00 AM, 9:00 AM, 10:00 AM, 11:00 AM, 12:00 PM, or 1:00 PM
• Night shift start times: 3:00 PM, 5:00 PM, or 7:00 PM (must be flexible with varying start times, cannot request a set start time)
• Every other weekend required
• Must work 2 of 3 major holidays during the holiday season
• May float between Gilbert and Chandler ER locations, approximately 7 miles/15 minutes apart, possibly during mid-shifts
• Patient ratios of 1:3-4
• 31-bed emergency department unit
• Common diagnoses and patient types include MVAs, GSWs, CVA (stroke center), MI (chest pain center), high-risk OB, psych holds, cardioversions, conscious sedation for closed fractures, and an 11% pediatric population
• Charting system: Cerner
• Equipment includes GE Lifepack monitors, Puritan Bennett 840 ventilators, Draeger, Vision BiPAP, and V60s
• Respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and ER pharmacist services available on-site
• 2-3 days of floor-specific orientation provided
• Pass/Fail Simulation Lab on day 1 of orientation (study guides will be provided)
• Prophecy Dysrhythmia Exam required 24-48 hours prior to acceptance of position, with a maximum of 2 attempts
• Moderate conscious sedation competency testing required
• Minimum 2 years of ER/Trauma experience required
• Scrub color: Navy
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS (or ENPC)
