Telemetry RN Job in Redding, CA

You'll work as a registered nurse on a 22-bed telemetry neuro unit at Mercy Medical Center Redding. This is a 91-day travel assignment starting October 20, 2026, with 3x12-hour night shifts (6:45 PM to 7:15 AM). You'll earn $1,963 per week.

Your responsibilities include:

• Care for patients with stroke, TIA, seizure, traumatic brain injury, and mixed medical telemetry conditions
• Manage a patient ratio of 1:3–4 per shift
• Administer and monitor titratable drips including Heparin, Amiodarone, Cardizem, and DKA protocols
• Read and interpret telemetry strips and dysrhythmia patterns
• Operate respiratory equipment including BiPAP, CPAP, and high-flow nasal cannula
• Document using the Cerner EMR system
• Conduct bedside shift reports with focus on patient experience and HCAHPS
• Support stroke core measures

Schedule and staffing:

• Every other weekend requirement with 4 weekend shifts per 4-week cycle
• First-float availability to IMCU (2West) or Med/Surg departments as needed
• Self-scheduling by seniority; schedules posted 3 weeks in advance
• One shift of unit-specific orientation provided
• No call or standby requirements
• Holiday work integrated into permanent staff rotation

Requirements:

• Current RN license
• 2–3 years experience in telemetry specialty (first-time travelers welcome)
• ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
• COVID vaccination required
• Must pass dysrhythmia exam
• Navy scrubs required
