PCU Registered Nurse Job in Uniontown, PA

WVU Uniontown Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Progressive Care Unit (PCU), a 28-bed stepdown unit with a cardiac focus. This is a 91-day travel assignment starting September 7, 2026.

Schedule and Compensation

• Three 12-hour day shifts per week (7:00 AM–7:30 PM)
• Every other weekend required, including both Saturday and Sunday
• Winter holiday rotation into permanent staff schedule
• Weekly pay: $2,331

Clinical Responsibilities

• Patient ratio of 1:4–5, or 1:6 for Med-Surg acuity patients
• Care for patients with dysrhythmias, CVAs, and those downgraded from ICU
• Read and interpret telemetry strips; unit serves as central monitor station for the entire hospital
• Titrate drips including Cardizem, Nitro, Dopamine, Dobutamine, and Heparin (insulin is set-rate only; no sedation drips)
• Manage Bipap, CPAP, and High Flow ventilation
• May float to ICU in a helping hands capacity

Support and Orientation

• Two shifts of floor-specific orientation with a preceptor
• Hospitalist in-house 24/7
• Intensivist in ICU seven days per week, 7:00 AM–7:00 PM, with on-call coverage after hours
• Respiratory therapy and pharmacy available in-house 24/7

Technology and Credentials

• Charting via EPIC (currently transitioning from Cerner)
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• BSN not required
• Scrub requirement: Navy blue; jackets must also be navy blue
