PCU RN Job in Altoona, PA

You will work as a Registered Nurse in the Progressive Care Unit at West Central - UPMC Altoona. This is a 90-day travel assignment beginning August 10, 2026.

Schedule and Pay

• 3 days per week, 12-hour shifts (rotating)
• Approximately 12 hours per week
• Weekly pay: $2,260.08

Your Role

You will provide direct nursing care as a Professional Staff Nurse and member of the care delivery team. You will manage patient care activities for assigned patients and their families through independent judgment, communication, and collaboration. Your responsibilities include:

• Formulating daily goals and individualized plans of care using a holistic approach
• Demonstrating critical thinking to identify clinical, social, safety, psychological, and spiritual issues within episodes of care
• Utilizing research and evidence-based practice to support improvement in clinical care
• Actively participating in quality improvement efforts at the department and unit level
• Serving as a full partner on the care team with flexibility and adaptability to change
• Providing detailed and appropriate patient and family education to guide them through episodes of care and transitions
• Developing and maintaining productive working relationships internally and externally

Required Qualifications

• Current RN license
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
• BLS certification
• PA Act 31, PA Act 33, PA Act 34, and PA Act 73 compliance
• BSN preferred
