PCU RN Job in Uniontown, PA

WVU Uniontown Hospital is seeking an RN for a progressive care unit float pool position. You will work 3 twelve-hour night shifts per week with rotating weekends and holidays. This is a 91-day contract starting November 2, 2026, at $2,371 weekly.

You will float between multiple units including Med-Surg, Telemetry, Step-down, and the Intensive Monitored Care Unit (IMCU) on 3W, as well as IRU Rehab and ED Holding. Patient ratios vary: Med-Surg at 1:6–7 and Step-down at 1:4–5 (or 1:6 if Med-Surg acuity). Step-down is cardiac-heavy, managing dysrhythmias, CVAs, and patients downgraded from ICU.

Clinical Skills Required:

• Read and interpret cardiac monitor strips
• Titrate drips including Cardizem, Nitro, Dopamine, Dobutamine, and Heparin
• Manage BiPAP, CPAP, and high-flow respiratory equipment in coordination with respiratory therapy
• Administer heparin and comfort care drips on Med-Surg units

Med-Surg patient populations include post-surgical, orthopedic, pneumonia, dialysis, palliative care, hospice, end-of-life, and chemotherapy patients. Tele patients on Med-Surg units are monitored remotely by monitor tech; you are not required to read those strips. Step-down serves as the central monitor station for the hospital.

Required Certifications:

• ACLS
• BLS
• NIHSS

You will use the EPIC charting system. Support is available 24/7: a hospitalist in-house, an Intensivist in the ICU 7 days per week from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. with on-call coverage after hours, and 24/7 respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and IV support. Block scheduling is allowed as long as unit needs are met. The contract includes a cancellation policy of 2 shifts per 13-week period. Navy blue scrubs are required; jackets, if worn, must also be navy blue. A BSN is not required.
