PCU RN Job in Altoona, PA

You will work as a registered nurse in the Progressive Care Unit at West Central - UPMC Altoona. This is a 90-day travel assignment beginning August 24, 2026.

Schedule and Pay

• 3 days per week, 12-hour shifts (days)
• Approximately 12 hours per week
• Weekly pay: $2,521

Your Role

You will provide direct nursing care as a member of the care delivery team. You will manage patient care activities for a group of patients and their families, using independent judgment, communication, and collaboration. Your responsibilities include:

• Formulating daily goals and individualized plans of care using a holistic approach
• Demonstrating critical thinking to identify clinical, social, safety, psychological, and spiritual issues within episodes of care
• Using research and evidence-based practice to support improvements in clinical care
• Actively participating in quality improvement efforts at the department and unit level
• Serving as a full partner on the care team with flexibility and adaptability to change
• Providing detailed patient and family education to guide them through care episodes and transitions
• Developing and maintaining productive working relationships internally and externally

Requirements

• Current RN license (PA)
• BLS certification
• PA Act 31, Act 33, Act 34, and Act 73 compliance
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
• BSN preferred
