RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• AM shift schedule with every other weekend required
• Holiday rotation required - staff must work one summer and one winter holiday
• Staff are assigned to rotating groups for self-scheduling, with groups rotated every scheduling period (weekly)
• Position may require floating at times to cover staffing needs
• Patient ratio of 1:6 on days, nights, and weekends
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• First-time travelers accepted
• Required certification: BLS
• Meditech charting system experience preferred
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Patients served include adults and geriatrics
• Common patient diagnoses include cellulitis, pneumonia, dementia, renal failure, GI bleed, sepsis, COPD, wound care, and more
• Required skills include blood product administration, feeding tube care and management, high flow nasal cannula, IV insulin protocols, peripheral and PICC line care, telemetry remote monitoring, wound care, tracheostomy care, and use of rapid response/code teams
• Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, social services, and rapid response teams
• 24 orientation hours required
