Med Surg RN Job in Fishersville, VA

Augusta Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for our 32-bed Medical/Surgical unit in Fishersville, VA. This is a travel position with a 182-day duration, starting September 21, 2026.

Position Details:

• Shift: 3x12 nights
• Weekly pay: $2,106
• Patient ratio: 1:6
• Every other weekend requirement with holiday rotation (one summer, one winter holiday annually)
• Self-scheduling within rotating groups, with group rotation every scheduling period
• Floating may occur to cover staffing needs

Requirements:

• Current RN license
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
• 24 hours of orientation included
• Meditech charting system experience preferred
• Community hospital experience preferred

What You'll Do:

You will care for adult and geriatric patients on a unit that emphasizes new technologies and innovative nursing practice. Common diagnoses include cellulitis, pneumonia, dementia, renal failure, GI bleed, sepsis, diabetes management, COPD, and wound care.

Clinical Skills Required:

• Blood product administration
• Feeding tube care
• Heparin and IV insulin protocols
• High-flow nasal cannula management
• Peripheral and PICC line management
• Telemetry remote monitoring
• Tracheostomy care
• Wound care and wound vac management

Support Available:

You will have access to interdisciplinary support including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, rapid response teams, and social services.

This unit serves as an early adopter of new technology, equipment, and nursing practice models. Local candidates within 50 miles of the facility are not eligible to apply.
