Med Surg RN Job in Fishersville, VA

You will work as a Registered Nurse on a fast-paced inpatient surgical unit at Augusta Health in Fishersville, VA. This is a 182-day travel assignment with 3x12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM to 7:00 AM), every other weekend required. Weekly pay is $2,106.

Role & Experience:

• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
• First-time travelers are welcome
• Previous surgical experience required
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Previous charge experience preferred

Clinical Responsibilities:

• Patient ratio of 6:1
• Patient diagnoses include general surgery, abdominal surgery, urological surgery, orthopedic surgery, hysterectomy, mastectomy, spine surgery, and bariatric surgery
• Will accept pediatric surgical patients aged 12 and above depending on surgical procedure
• Treats patients across age groups including adolescents, adults, and geriatrics

Required Skills:

• Blood product administration, central line blood draw, chest tube management, colostomy/ileostomy care, continuous bladder irrigation, heparin, insulin, PCA, PICC line management, telemetry, total joint replacement, and wound care/wound vac
• BLS certification required
• Meditech charting system experience preferred

Assignment Details:

• 40 orientation hours required
• Floating to other units is expected at times and must be confirmed with you before final signature
• Cannot guarantee block scheduling but will attempt to group shifts together when available
• RTO policy: If one holiday falls within the assignment, expect to work it; if two holidays, expect to work one; if three, expect to work two
• Local candidates within 50 miles of facility are not accepted
