Med Surg RN Job in Salem, VA

Join Lewisgale Medical Center as a Med Surg RN on the Inpatient Rehab unit (4E) in Salem, VA. You will work three 12-hour night shifts per week from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM on a 91-day travel assignment beginning September 14, 2026. Weekly pay is $2,070.

Role Responsibilities

• Care for 5–7 patients per shift on the Inpatient Rehab unit with every-other-weekend scheduling
• May float to other Med Surg departments as needed
• Administer medications including IV, PICC line, and PEG tube administration
• Perform clinical procedures: bladder scans, trach care, tube feeding, Foley catheterization, bladder irrigation, and blood administration
• Monitor and document vital signs using equipment including vitals machines, Baxter IV pumps, sequential compression devices, and bladder scanners
• Document all patient care in the Meditech system
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, Physiatrist, Physician Assistant, and Neuropsychologist
• Work with patients toward functional independence and achievement of individualized rehabilitation goals

Requirements

• Current RN license in Virginia
• BLS certification
• Rehab experience required
• Med Surg experience preferred
• Dress code: navy blue or white solid scrubs
