RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• Work on a 33-bed Telemetry, Med Surg, and Trauma unit on the 6th floor of the Main Hospital
• Patient ratios of 5 to 6:1
• Day shift staffing includes 1 charge nurse, 1 unit secretary, 7-8 RNs, and 2-3 PCTs
• Night shift staffing includes 1 charge nurse, 1 unit secretary, 7-8 RNs, and 2 PCTs
• Required certifications: BLS and ACLS
• Must pass a Basic Rhythm test
• Experience in Medical Surgical nursing preferred
• Excellent patient focus preferred
• Perform typical unit procedures including small I&Ds, peritoneal dialysis, and thoracentesis
• Utilize equipment including EKG, code cart, Welch Allyn vital machines, vascular Doppler, wound vacs, Carescape monitors, and Cultura Link interpreting services
• Document using Meditech EMR system
• Scrub color: Navy; no cotton jackets permitted and dress code is strictly enforced
• High energy and positive attitude are the best personality fit for this unit
