RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• Work on a 33-bed Telemetry, Med Surg, and Trauma unit on the 6th floor of the main hospital
• Patient ratios of 5 to 6:1
• Day shift staffing includes 1 charge nurse, 1 unit secretary, 7-8 RNs, and 2-3 PCTs
• Night shift staffing includes 1 charge nurse, 1 unit secretary, 7-8 RNs, and 2 PCTs
• Required certifications: BLS and ACLS
• Must pass a Basic Rhythm test
• Experience in Medical Surgical nursing preferred
• Excellent patient focus preferred
• Typical procedures include small incision and drainage procedures, peritoneal dialysis, and thoracentesis
• Equipment used includes EKG, code cart, Welch Allyn vital machines, Vascular Doppler, wound vacs, Cultura Link interpreting services, and Carescape monitors for rhythm monitoring
• EMR system: Meditech
• Scrub color: Navy
• No cotton jackets; dress code is strictly enforced
