RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• PM shift schedule with every other weekend required
• Holiday rotation required - must work one summer and one winter holiday per rotation
• Staff are assigned to rotating groups for self-scheduling, with groups rotating every scheduling period (weekly)
• Position may require floating to other units to cover staffing needs
• Patient ratio of 1:6 for days, nights, and weekends
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• First-time travelers accepted
• Required certification: BLS
• Meditech charting system experience preferred
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Must be proficient in skills including blood product administration, feeding tube care and management, heparin, high flow nasal cannula (HFNC), insulin protocols, IV insertion and maintenance, peripheral and PICC line management, telemetry remote monitoring, wound care/wound vac, tracheostomy care, and use of rapid response/code teams
• Patients served include adult and geriatric age groups
• Common patient diagnoses include cellulitis, pneumonia, dementia, renal failure, GI bleed, sepsis, diabetes management, COPD, wound care, and other medical/surgical conditions
• Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, social services, and rapid response teams
• 24-hour orientation provided
• Locals within 50 miles of facility are not accepted
