PCU RN Job in San Antonio, TX

Methodist Hospital in San Antonio, TX is hiring an RN for a 13-week contract position in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU). You'll work the night shift, 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., three days per week on an every-other-weekend schedule with no on-call requirements.

About the Role

You'll provide care in a 22-bed Burn and Reconstructive Care Unit that also manages off-service PCU patients, including stroke and cardiac patients. Your patient ratio will be 1:3 to 1:4, allowing you to deliver focused, individualized care. You'll perform typical procedures including dressing changes and use the Meditech EMR system alongside standard equipment.

Your Responsibilities

• Deliver direct patient care in burn, reconstructive, and progressive care settings
• Float to PCU, Telemetry, and Medical Surgical zones as needed
• Collaborate with a 35-person team including RNs, Clinical Nurses, PCTs, and Unit Coordinators
• Maintain accurate documentation and communication standards

What You'll Bring

You must have demonstrated experience with burn and reconstructive care as well as PCU-level patients. You'll work independently and as part of the collaborative team. Current BLS certification is required. You must be comfortable wearing navy blue scrubs per facility dress code.

Assignment Details

Position starts August 28, 2026, and runs 13 weeks (91 days). You'll earn $1,665 weekly. This is a nights-focused role ideal for RNs seeking stable, predictable scheduling without weekend call obligations.
