PCU - Progressive Care Unit

Job Details:

• 13-week contract with an ASAP start date
• 12-hour variable shifts: 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM or 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Guaranteed 36 hours per week, except during orientation week and holidays when the unit is closed
• Every other weekend and every other holiday required
• Float requirements include all inpatient units at the facility as needed, typically to higher acuity units
• Low census eligibility of up to 36 unbillable hours - unit may reduce shifts in 4-hour increments
• Patient ratio of 4:1
• 22-bed Med Surg Intermediate Care unit with heavy telemetry
• Patient population includes stable and weaning vents/trachs, sepsis, trauma, alcohol detox, GI bleed, colostomy/ileostomy, chest tubes, TBI, ortho trauma, spinal cord injury, stroke, and primary insulin drips
• Minimum 2+ years of experience required - firm requirement
• Stepdown, Intermediate, or PCU experience required
• ICU experience preferred
• Trauma Level II experience preferred
• Ventilator/Trach experience required
• At least 1 prior travel experience required
• EPIC charting experience preferred
• Required certifications: WI RN License, BLS, and ACLS (AHA or ARC)
• Associate Degree or Certificate required; Bachelor's Degree preferred
• Scrub color: Any color accepted
• Must be a hard worker, resilient, able to manage independently, complete tasks timely, and work well in a fast-paced environment
