PCU RN Job in Nashville, TN

Skyline Medical Center is seeking an RN for a travel assignment in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU). This is a 91-day contract beginning November 23, 2026.

Position Details

• Schedule: 3 twelve-hour night shifts per week (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Compensation: $1,881 weekly
• Unit size: 20-bed PCU with 6:1 patient ratio
• Weekend requirement: 2 weekends (4 shifts) per 4-week schedule

Role Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate bedside care and maintain patient and family engagement in care planning
• Provide shift handoff reports and coordinate with the healthcare team
• Manage medical-surgical patients with complex care needs
• Float as contract labor when needed (first-to-float policy applies)
• Prioritize and multitask across patient assignments
• Start peripheral IVs, perform basic wound care, and maintain surgical drains, nasogastric tubes, and chest tubes

Equipment and Systems

• IV pumps, telemetry monitoring, sequential compression devices (SCDs), continuous pulse oximetry
• Feeding pumps, patient-controlled analgesia (PCA), EKG machines
• Bladder scanner and iMobile communication technology
• Meditech electronic documentation system

Support Available

• Tech support on day and night shifts
• Unit secretary available 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Medical-surgical nursing experience
• Ability to prioritize, multitask, and provide quality patient care

Dress Code

Navy scrubs (tops and bottoms) required.
