About this role

LVH – Muhlenberg seeks a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a 91-day travel assignment beginning October 5, 2026. You will work nights from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM on a 3x12 schedule, earning $2,332.80 weekly.

Role Overview

This is a float pool position supporting Adult Critical Care and the Emergency Department. You will provide respiratory care to adult and geriatric patients, including those in trauma settings (Level I and II preferred). Every other weekend is required; no on-call responsibilities.

Required Experience and Credentials

  • Minimum 2 years experience in Adult Critical Care and Emergency Department settings
  • Current RRT, BLS, and ACLS certifications
  • Pennsylvania Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) License
  • Epic charting system experience preferred

Clinical Competencies

You will manage a range of respiratory interventions and equipment:

  • Medication delivery and aerosol therapy: Albuterol, Atrovent, inhaled steroids, Mucomyst, Nitric Oxide (iNO), Perforomist, Pulmicort, and racemic epinephrine
  • Airway management: ET tube placement assistance, intubation assist, nasal and oral airway placement and suctioning, tracheostomy care and management, extubation support
  • Respiratory support: Oxygen therapy, bag and mask ventilation, HFNC, trach collar, BiPAP, CPAP, mechanical ventilation weaning, and high-pressure alarm troubleshooting
  • Diagnostics and procedures: ABG collection and interpretation, sputum specimen collection, chest physiotherapy with vest systems
  • Nebulizer therapy: Cold, handheld, T-piece, trach collar, and ultrasonic delivery

Equipment Experience

You will operate Hamilton G5, Puritan Bennett 980 (PB980), Philips Respironics V60, Optiflow, Lumis Tx, CoughAssist, The Vest Airway Clearance System, and IPV devices.

Additional Details

Wear dark grey scrubs. This position requires strong clinical judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to adapt across critical care and emergency environments.
