PCU RN Job in Asheville, NC

You will work as an RN on the D2 unit at Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC, a 20-bed inpatient overflow unit serving medical-surgical and step-down patients. This is a backfill travel position on the Progressive Care Unit.

Shift and Schedule

• 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each
• Nights: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM
• Every other weekend requirement
• No call required

Your Role

• Manage quick-turnover, short-stay patients (under 24 hours length of stay)
• Work with patient ratios of 1:5 or 1:6 depending on level of care
• Monitor patients on telemetry equipment; all monitored patients are hardwired to bedside monitors
• Document and communicate in the Cerner EMR system
• Float to other units as needed

Requirements

• Current RN license
• Telemetry competency
• Progressive care experience (recent experience preferred)
• BLS and ACLS certification

You will work in a fast-paced environment focused on patient care and teamwork. The dress code is navy and/or white top with navy bottom, or all-white scrubs. Maintaining a positive attitude and prioritizing patient experience are essential to success in this role.
