PCU - Progressive Care Unit

Opportunity:

RN - PCU

Job Details:

• Work with patient populations including CABG, ICD, Pacemaker, cardiac drips, and vascular surgical patients
• Patient ratios: Days 1:4, Nights 1:6
• 24-bed unit with telemetry tech monitoring
• Administer and titrate cardiac drips including Nitro, Cardene, Heparin, Diltiazem, Dopamine, and others
• Required to float across all campuses including Iowa Methodist Medical Center and Iowa Lutheran
• Every 4th weekend schedule required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Required to work 1-2 of 3 upcoming Winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year) unless unit is closed
• Scrubs: Navy blue, solid color required
• Minimum 24 months of experience in Telemetry/Cardiac, Stepdown, or Progressive Care required
• Experience with ICD (implantable cardioverter-defibrillator) and Pacemaker patients required
• Experience caring for CABG and vascular surgical patients required
• Cardiac rhythm experience required
• Cardiac drip/titration experience required
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Equipment experience with Alaris IV pump and wound vac required
• Level II trauma experience required; Level I trauma experience highly preferred
• Must have completed at least one travel contract within the previous 18 months
• Required certifications: BLS and ACLS (AHA or ARC)
• Active Iowa nursing license required
