ED RN Job in Overland Park, Kansas

Overland Park Regional Medical Center is seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN for a 91-day travel assignment. You'll work a 4x12 day schedule (7:00 AM–7:00 PM) with guaranteed 48-hour minimum weekly hours available as an option.

Role & Responsibilities:

• Provide direct patient care in a Level 2 trauma center Emergency Department
• Manage a patient ratio of 1:4
• Perform advanced emergency procedures including trauma care, STEMI interventions, stroke protocols, sepsis management, and triage
• Operate specialized equipment: Level 1 fluid warmers, GE monitor systems, Arctic Sun devices, Lifepak units, and Alaris infusion pumps
• Document all care using the Meditech system
• Apply AIDET communication principles and utilize whiteboards for patient experience standards
• Floating occurs rarely and only when other staff are sent home

Requirements:

• Current Kansas RN license
• Minimum 2 years emergency or trauma nursing experience
• Advanced knowledge of trauma protocols, STEMI care, stroke care, sepsis management, and emergency triage
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, ENPC or PALS, and TNCC
• Preferred certifications: CPI, CEN, and TCRN

Schedule & Logistics:

• Four 12-hour day shifts per week, 7:00 AM–7:00 PM
• Every third weekend required
• Mid-shift variations available as early as 10:00 AM or as late as 1:00 PM start times
• Assignment duration: 91 days
• Start date: November 2, 2026

Workplace Standards:

• Dress code: Cobalt blue top with black or cobalt blue pants, solid color, closed-toe shoes required

Weekly pay is $2,628. This role is ideal for RNs with strong trauma experience who thrive in a fast-paced emergency environment and want to build skills in a Level 2 trauma center.
