Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required
• Weekend coverage required with 6 shifts per 6-week period
• 24-hour orientation provided
• Patient ratios: 1:5-6 on days and 1:6 on nights
• 18-bed unit with interdisciplinary support including physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and unit secretary
• Float required to other med-surg floors, telemetry, forensic, ED, and post-partum units
• Must be comfortable caring for prison population
• Serves underserved, homeless, underinsured, and insured patient populations
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH, and CPI (MAB accepted in lieu of CPI)
• Required skills include: administration of chemotherapy, blood product administration, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, isolation precautions/PPE, PCA, peripheral line care/management, starting and maintaining IVs, telemetry, tracheostomy care/management, and wound care/wound vac
• Contract nurses are expected to participate in holiday rotation and work 3 of the following 6 holidays: Thanksgiving, Black Friday, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
• Local and first-time travelers accepted
