Telemetry RN Job in San Luis Obispo, CA

French Hospital Medical Center is seeking an RN for a Telemetry position on a combined MedSurg/Telemetry unit in San Luis Obispo, CA. This is a travel assignment lasting 91 days, starting November 9, 2026.

Shift & Schedule

• 3x12-hour night shifts: 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM
• Every other weekend requirement with 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule
• First to float on alternating weekends between the 300 unit (14 beds) and main unit (44 beds)
• Holidays worked in rotation with permanent staff

Patient Care & Unit Details

• Patient ratio: 1 to 4
• 300 unit: surgical, orthopedic, and medical patients
• Main unit: cardiac-focused and step-down acuity including post-cath, post-pacemaker, post-PCI, TAVR day 1 or greater, CABG day 1 or greater, sepsis, and respiratory distress
• No mechanical ventilators; may care for patients on BiPAP or CPAP with 24/7 respiratory therapy support
• Common medications: amiodarone, heparin, cardizem, fixed-rate insulin, nitroprusside, and dopamine (renal dosing only)
• Nurses required to read telemetry strips; monitor technician available

• Cerner EMR charting system
• Philips telemetry monitoring
• Nurse aides: one on night shift, one on mid shift, 3–4 on day shift
• 6 hours of floor-specific orientation provided
• Charge nurse responsibilities not required

Requirements

• Active California RN license
• ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
• BSN not required
• Navy scrubs

Compensation

Weekly pay: $1,926
