PCU - Progressive Care Unit

Opportunity:

Registered Nurse - PCU

Job Details:

• Work three 12-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Weekend rotation required
• Holiday rotation required
• No call responsibilities
• Float between all campuses as needed
• Minimum 2 years of experience required; first-time travelers accepted
• Patient ratio of 1:5 required; PCU ratio experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Cardiac telemetry experience required
• Must demonstrate management and interpretation of dysrhythmias
• Must be proficient in peripheral line care and management, PICC line management
• Must be able to titrate drips including cardiac, vasoactive, and insulin drips
• Additional skills include BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, chest tube management, high flow nasal cannula, IV insulin protocols, non-invasive airway management, PCA, tracheostomy care, and wound care/wound vac
• Epic EMR experience required
• Must pass a compliance EKG exam (2 attempts allowed)
• Unit serves adult patients with diagnoses including stroke, renal disorders, sepsis, endocrine disorders, gastrointestinal disorders, and hematological disorders
• All telemetry monitored beds with centralized cardiac monitoring department providing surveillance
• 34-bed general medical progressive care unit with a daily census of 30 and 35 total beds
• Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and more
• Self-scheduling unit
