Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Tele

Job Details:

• Day shift position available
• 36 or 48 hours per week available
• 13-week contract
• Every other weekend required
• Must work 2 out of 3 winter holidays; time off around Christmas cannot be approved
• Block scheduling cannot be guaranteed
• Patient ratio of 1:4 on days, nights, and weekends
• 17-bed unit serving adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients
• Receives patients from the Emergency Department, Medical ICU, clinics, outside hospitals, and nursing facilities
• Treats a wide range of medical diagnoses including diabetes, sickle cell crisis, COPD exacerbations, ESRD with pulmonary hypertension, wounds, drains, and tubes
• Must adhere to float policy and float within scope of practice as needed
• Minimum 1 year of experience required
• Epic experience required
• BLS required; ACLS preferred but not required
• Virginia nursing license required; pending licenses accepted
• BSN preferred
• Required skills include telemetry interpretation, management of dysrhythmias, BiPAP/CPAP management, high flow nasal cannula, IV insulin protocols, PICC line management, blood product administration, wound care/wound vac, tracheostomy care, and peritoneal dialysis among others
• Special equipment includes overhead ceiling lifts and peritoneal dialysis equipment
• Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and more
