Telemetry RN Job in Chesapeake, VA

You will work as a Registered Nurse on a 28-bed Med-Surg/Telemetry unit at Chesapeake Regional Medical Center, specializing in post-operative care for orthopedic, spinal, bariatric, and colorectal surgery patients. The unit also accepts Level III trauma patients and medical-surgical overflow as census permits.

Role Details

• Typical patient ratio: 1:7
• Telemetry capability: up to 8 monitored patients
• Shift: 4x12 nights (schedule options: 3x12s or 4x12s available)
• Assignment duration: 91 days
• Start date: September 28, 2026
• Weekly pay: $2,531
• Overtime paid after 48 hours for 4x12 schedules

Responsibilities & Key Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia management
• Post-operative care including wound management and blood product administration
• PICC line and tracheostomy care
• Bariatric and orthopedic trauma nursing
• Equipment operation including Bucks Traction
• Every other weekend, floating, and holiday shifts as required within contract

Requirements

• Active Virginia or Compact RN license at time of submission (no exceptions)
• Minimum two years recent relevant nursing experience
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• BLS and ACLS certifications through American Heart Association
• EKG testing required; must achieve 80% or higher on first attempt
• Epic proficiency required (no exceptions)

• Interdisciplinary teams: IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response available
