Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Tele

Job Details:

• Day shift schedule available
• 36 or 48 hours per week available
• 13-week contract
• Every other weekend and every other holiday required
• Block scheduling cannot be guaranteed
• Patient ratio of 1:4 on days, nights, and weekends
• 17-bed unit with a daily census of 15
• Care for patients of all ages including adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• Patients received from the Emergency Department, Medical ICU, clinics, outside hospitals, and nursing facilities
• Wide range of medical diagnoses including diabetes, sickle cell crisis, COPD exacerbations, ESRD with pulmonary hypertension, wounds, drains, and tubes
• Required skills include telemetry interpretation, dysrhythmia management, BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, IV insulin protocols, heparin management, wound care, tracheostomy care, PICC line management, and more
• Epic charting experience required
• Must adhere to float policy and float within scope of practice as needed
• BLS required; ACLS preferred but not required
• Minimum 1 year of experience required
• BSN preferred
• Virginia nursing license required; pending license accepted
• Overhead ceiling lifts and peritoneal dialysis equipment available on unit
• Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
