Telemetry RN Job in Charlottesville, VA

University of Virginia Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for a 13-week travel assignment on our Med Surg/Telemetry unit in Charlottesville, Virginia. This night shift position offers 4x12-hour shifts at $2,487 weekly.

Role Details

• Night shift, 4x12-hour blocks with every other weekend and every other holiday required
• 12-bed Med Surg/Tele unit with 1:4 patient ratio
• Care for adult and geriatric patients with diagnoses including respiratory illnesses, renal failure, diabetes, sepsis, cellulitis, infections, heart failure, sickle cell, and cystic fibrosis

Clinical Responsibilities

• Nurse-driven Heparin infusions and insulin drips via Glucomander
• Telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Nurse-driven flu vaccinations and CAPD
• Chest tube, tracheostomy, and wound vac management
• PCA pump operation and medication titration
• Isolation precautions and IV insulin protocols

Equipment and Support

• Specialized equipment including lift devices, HOVER mats, chest tubes, trachs, PCA pumps, bladder scanner, and wound vacs
• Interdisciplinary support available: IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience
• Current Virginia nursing license (pending licenses accepted)
• BLS certification
• Epic charting system experience
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Trauma Level I experience preferred
• BSN preferred
