Telemetry RN Job in Chesapeake, VA

Join Chesapeake Regional Medical Center as a Registered Nurse on a 28-bed Medical-Surgical Telemetry unit specializing in post-operative care. You will work with orthopedic, spinal, bariatric, and colorectal surgery patients, as well as Level III trauma cases and medical-surgical overflow as census permits.

Role Details

• 3 shifts of 12 hours per night per week (3x12 nights schedule)
• Typical patient ratio of 1:7
• Unit capability to monitor up to 8 telemetry patients
• Care for adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients

Responsibilities

• Telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation
• Blood product administration and wound care
• PCA and PICC line management
• Total joint replacement and orthopedic trauma care
• Bucks Traction equipment management
• Every other weekend, floating, and holiday shifts as required
• Must work two of three winter holidays

Required Qualifications

• Active Virginia or Compact RN license at time of submission
• Minimum two years recent relevant nursing experience
• Previous travel nursing experience
• Proficiency in Epic electronic health record system
• BLS and ACLS certification through American Heart Association
• EKG testing: must score 80% or higher (one attempt, no remediation)
