PCU - Progressive Care Unit

RN - PCU

Job Details:

• Work day shifts from 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM
• Scheduled 36 hours per week following first week of orientation
• No guaranteed hours and no on-call responsibilities
• 24 hours of operation Monday through Friday
• Work in a 15-bed Progressive Care Unit including 3 Step Down ICU beds and 12 telemetry beds
• Patient ratios of 1:4 for Progressive Care and 1:3 for Step Down ICU
• Provide primary nursing care and telemetry monitoring including telemetry strip reading
• Perform fingerstick blood sugar monitoring
• Utilize Meditech charting system and Pyxis for medication administration
• Operate BIPAP and continuous cardiac monitoring equipment
• Float to all acute units in-house including Medical, Surgical/Peds, ICU, and ER
• Minimum 1 year of hospital acute care experience within the last year required
• Progressive care and telemetry experience preferred
• ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certification preferred
• Active State of Hawaii nursing license required by start of assignment
• Dress code: Scrubs
