PCU RN Job in Hilo, HI

Join Hilo Medical Center as a Registered Nurse in the Progressive Care Unit. This 91-day travel assignment offers you the opportunity to deliver primary nursing care in a 15-bed unit that combines step-down ICU and telemetry services.

Role Details

• Work 36 hours per week following your first week of orientation
• Care for patients across Progressive Care and Step Down ICU settings
• Maintain patient ratios of 1:4 for Progressive Care beds and 1:3 for Step Down ICU beds
• Perform telemetry monitoring, telemetry strip reading, and fingerstick blood sugar checks
• Utilize Meditech charting, Pyxis medication dispensing, BIPAP, and continuous cardiac monitoring equipment
• Float to acute care units including Medical, Surgical/Peds, ICU, and Emergency Room as needed

Requirements

• Active State of Hawaii nursing license required by assignment start date
• Minimum 1 year of hospital acute care experience within the past year
• Progressive Care and telemetry experience preferred
• ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certification preferred
