PCU RN Job in Hilo, HI

Hilo Medical Center seeks a Registered Nurse for a flex pool position in the Progressive Care Unit. You will work 12-hour night shifts from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM, scheduled for 36 hours per week after your initial orientation week. This is a float RN role rotating across the Medical Unit, Laulima (Surgical Acute) Unit, and Cardiovascular Unit.

Assignment Details:

• Weekly pay: $2,252
• Assignment duration: 105 days
• Start date: November 2, 2026
• No guarantee of hours

Unit Information:

• Medical Unit: 77 beds, nurse-to-patient ratio 1:6 (days/evenings) and 1:8 (nights)
• Laulima Unit: 18 beds, nurse-to-patient ratio 1:6
• Cardiovascular Unit: 15 beds, nurse-to-patient ratio 1:4

Clinical Skills and Equipment:

You will work with Meditech EMR, Pyxis medication dispensing, wound vacs, and chest tubes. Orientation will be provided for each unit to ensure you are familiar with workflows and patient populations.

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
• Active State of Hawaii nursing license required by start of assignment
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Professional nursing attire and clean scrubs required

Preferred Qualifications:

• Up to 10 years of experience preferred
• PALS, Procedural Sedation, TNCC, and ENPC certifications
