ICU - Intensive Care Unit

RN - ICU

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts, 3 days per week from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• 13-week contract
• Every other weekend required, with flexibility for more if desired
• No on-call required
• Float between ICU and Telemetry units
• Patient ratios of 2-3 patients in ICU and 1:4-5 in Telemetry for all shifts
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required, with Level 1 Center experience preferred for first-time travelers
• Missouri or Compact nursing license required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Meditech EMR experience strongly preferred; ability to quickly learn required if not experienced
• Required skills include: Impella experience, balloon pump experience, stroke care, and STEMI care
• Additional clinical skills required: arterial line management, BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, ventilator management, continuous IV sedation, CVA/acute stroke management, titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips, central line care/management, interpretation of dysrhythmias and ABGs, IV insulin protocols, and TPN/Lipids
• Treats adult and geriatric patient populations
• Common patient diagnoses include respiratory failure, pneumonia, COPD, CHF, sepsis, AKI, DKA, TIA/stroke, arrhythmias, and DKA
• Unit scrub color: Navy Blue
